Idiot dog owners...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Should be put down!

A neighbor down the street has 2 mid-sized dogs, I have a medium-small dog. The two of them came at us agressively and started attacking Fergie. (quick disclaimer) Ok, Fergie's female, and I checked, but I'm pretty sure she's not in heat. Anyways, I'm screaming at the dogs, their owner comes out and says "is everything ok?" Umm... please note - no leash, no fence, these dogs are just outside *roaming around on their own*. My answer? "Sorta, these dogs started attacking my dog!" "Is your dog ok?" "I think so, WALK YOUR DOGS! Ok, Fergie, let's go home." So our normal 30 minute walk was reduced to 5 minutes, all because of one stupid dog owner.

Happy New Year

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
New year, time to experiment with a new journal.

Things were started off right in the household here. Ben & I had our New Year's kiss (lounging in the chairs)s Fergie (our dog) caught sight of it and decided to bounce on over, lay her head on my shoulder and proceed to give me a look of "Ok, where's my kiss?" Very cute!

And now a quickie update -

Not much. Xmas was good. Mom and her boyfriend came out and we had a good visit and a Turkey dinner. Thank goodness Mom was here! I don't know if the Turkey ould have turned out as good as it did if she weren't here.

Work has been relatively boring. All Xmas week, and I'm sure for the remainder of this week, there will be all of about 20 people in the office. Oh well, just more filing and dinking around on the web for me.

2008 - Goals (No, these are not resolutions!)

* Maybe try to go back and pick up a couple classes. I'm not too sure about that as I have other attainable goals I'd like to do too.
* Earn my first black belt and black sash in Kung Fu & Tai Chi. I'm not sure that's going to be fully attainable this year or not. I'll give it a go and see though. :) The best result, though, is that I am losing weight, all-be-it slowly, and toning up. I'm on my last notch on my belt and almost ready to drop a size (maybe two!).
* Learn to quilt and do a bit more creative sewing & clothing construction.
* Organize the house and throw away stuff that I don't need.
* Get my garden(s) going. We're talking mostly veggies here, and in containers so there's less chance of weeds and pests eating my goodies. Maybe a couple of nice flowers. I want to get my apple tree planted in the front yard too!
* Start Composting! I've already been saving up food scraps and freezing them so I can have a good start come spring!
* Take the dog to the Dog Park more frequently.

I think that these are all well attainable, I just need to be able to schedule my time better. With organizing the house and tossing/donating the things I don't need, I'm hoping that it'll help me focus even more. My only reservation is that I just might have to cut into my Warcraft time even more, or stop sleeping in as much as I have been. That means staying up after I take the dog out for her morning walk rather than going back to bed for another 3 hours. Really, I'd like to have a fenced in area where she can run around and play, but there are too many dangerous breed dogs in our neighborhood who's owners don't keep good track of.

Well, this post ended up being longer than I expected... Well, I'll live, but it's time to finish a garment I started making last weekend. See!? One goal, already in process. ;)
